Visiting opportunities

The Center for Comparative History and Political Studies (CCHPS) in Perm is pleased to offer visiting opportunities – internship and visiting research schemes – for international and Russian scholars at various stages of their career. CCHPS Studies is a part of Perm State National Research University, a hundred-year-old leading research institution in Russia. The Center was established in 2010 under European University at Saint-Petersburg’s Department Development Partnership Program. The city of Perm is one of Russia’s best-kept secrets. Located at the intersection of the Volga and Kama rivers, this former closed military city of more than a million residents is now a favorite experimental playground for modern artists with a dynamic political and civic life. CCHPS offers a unique opportunity for immersion in Russian academic and everyday life that differs from Moscow while offering an intense scholarly environment and exchange of ideas.

Doctoral, post-doctoral, and advanced scholars from any Russian or international academic institution are eligible to apply.

The CCHPS team is a multidisciplinary research center primarily focusing on comparative studies in the fields of history, political and social sciences, regional and area studies, anthropology, ethnic and cultural studies.

From two weeks to an academic semester. Longer stays can be negotiated.
